• About: Jonathan Batiste is from New Orleans suburb Kenner, Louisiana. At age 8 he began playing percussion in his family's Batiste Brothers Band. Ate age 12 he took up piano. Eventually he left to study at Juilliard in New York.
  
  At the NBA 2008 All-Star Game Half-Time show he played beside New Orleans artists Allen Toussaint, Harry Connick Jr., Dr. John, Ellis Marsalis, Art and Ivan Neville, and Davell Crawford. He's recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, Lenny Kravitz, Harry Connick Jr., Roy Hargrove, Cassandra Wilson, Derek Trucks, Jimmy Buffett, Abbey Lincoln, and others.
